Raise Your Hand If You Hate Mondays

Sometimes all it takes is a little inspiration and a few positive actions to get you prepared for a new week. I am sharing a few tips in this article to help you reframe, refocus and reignite your passion if you lack motivation, especially on Monday morning!

Do you need a health & wellness check up?
Your lack of motivation could be biological and perhaps you haven’t realised that or taken stock of your health and wellness for a while. Busy people are often tempted to stretch themselves to the limit, skipping lunch, working late, not sleeping well, not eating right, not managing stress etc and all of these things this rarely have positive long-term effects on us. If your health and wellness is suffering, it will almost certainly take a toll on your motivation levels. So, if you have zero motivation, ask yourself:
Am I eating right? Am I well rested? Do I need to see a G.P or visit a naturopath?
Take care of these things first because neglecting your health and wellness could be the source of your lack of motivation.

Passion
Do you factor in any time for doing things you have a passion for?We all have to do things that perhaps are a chore but if life has become a chronic source of dullness, then it is time to start factoring into your week something that you are passionate about. If you are not sure about what you are passionate about, focus on what you are grateful for currently as this is a great way to open doorways of enlightenment that lead you to your passion.

Read Books
Not just self-help or motivational books, but any book that has creative new ideas lining the pages. New ideas stimulate your brain and can really help to build your motivation..

Make a list
Make a list of the things you’re most excited about. We often embrace a new week focused on all of the difficult things we have ahead of us so change that up right now!!! “ Make a list of at least three things that will bring you joy this week. They can be personal of professional -just focus on these things and really allow the good energy associated with these positive activities or events to put you in a more motivated and happy mood. If you can’t think of three things to look forward to, that might be an indication that you need to make some changes.

Feel the Music
Ok, let’s be real…MUSIC IS LIFE. Music can really set the tone of how your day will flow. If you want a relaxing stress free flow for your day, listen to some peaceful and relaxing tunes in the car, in your office, at home…..but if you’re out to really raise your energy and motivational levels, go for some Pink, Beyonce or Rihanna and show Monday who’s the boss!

Choose
Appreciate your ability to choose to be in a good mood AND also appreciate the people who are motivated and are already in a good mood. You’ll get energy from doing both. The key to motivation is knowing that we can choose to change our life’s direction in a heartbeat.
