It can be difficult to let go of past resentments. It can seem almost impossible to forgive someone when you are really hurting.
Letting go and forgiving someone does not mean forgetting a wrongful action or excusing how hurtful it perhaps was.
Forgiveness is a choice and ultimately a gift that you give to yourself. It is not something you do FOR someone else.
Inner peace can be achieved when we practice forgiveness. Ultimately, we forgive because of its enormous impact on the state of our mind and body.
